*979# - remember this useful number!

 

Now you do not need to contact the Bank to get account information or make a money transfer between accounts of customers registered in SmartBank Internet Banking. To get info or make a money transfer dial the short code *979# and select a transaction you need in the menu:
  • foreign exchange rates information
  • money transfer*
  • statement of your current, card or deposit account
  • loan information (outstanding balance, days overdue, next payment date and amount)

 

*- Fee for money transfer remittance shall be applied according to the Bank tariffs. 

 
Benefits:
  • The service is free, including in roaming. The service is available to all users of KCell, Beeline, Tele2 and Altel.
  • The service is available at any GSM-phone, including models of previous generations (a smartphone is not obligatory!).
  • The service is available even if there is no money on the balance of your phone.
  • No Internet connection is needed.
 
How to register?
The *979# number is available to all Eurasian Bank customers, registered in the SmartBank Internet banking system. The main condition – your current active mobile phone number should be registered in SmartBank.
 
How does USSD-banking work?
1.    Please dial the short number *979# on your phone
2.    Immediately after dialing the number, you will receive a reply message to your phone in the language you have set in the SmartBank system.
 
 
                         
 
3. Select the information you want to obtain:

1 – to get to know the current exchange rates,

2 – to send and receive a money transfer,

3 – to get information on the card account balance,

4 - to get information on your deposit account amount,

5 - to get information on the current account balance,

6 – to get information on your loan.

 
 

For security purposes, messages replying to your inquiry will show only the last 4 digits of your account number or card number.

 

What does a reply look like, and how do you read it?

Let’s say you want a quick look at all of your card accounts. You press 2 to select the Card accounts menu. You will receive a message like this:

 
 
KZ...0877 – these are the initials of the account number, and the last four numbers of the account number, also known as the IBAN.
*9545 – these are the last four digits of the card number.
1 800 KZT – this is the account balance.
 
Here is an example of a message when more than one card is attached to a card account (the main card and two additional ones):
KZ...0878 - these are the initials of the account number, and the last four numbers of the account number, also known as the IBAN.
*8565 – these are the last four digits of the main card number.
*0678 – these are the last four digits of the number on an additional card.
*4532 – these are the last four digits of the number on a second additional card.
54,090 KZT – this is the account balance.
 
Here is an example of a message when the account balance is in a currency other than tenge:
 
KZ...0879 – these are the initials of the account number, and the last four numbers of the account number, also known as the IBAN.
*2565 – these are the last four digits of the card number.
12,100 USD – this is the account balance.

Checking loan payments

To see information about loans you have with Eurasian Bank, click on 1. You will get two menu choices – your loan-agreement number, and the word back. Clicking on the number will let you the amount you still owe, whether you have overdue debt, and the date and amount of your next payment.

Is this safe?
 
The messages are safe. The information stays on the screen only one minute. Also, *979# messages are not saved in the phone memory or in the mobile company’s system.
